Wine of the Week - 2010 Apothic Red

Apothic Red from Trader Joe's is a nice, tasty wine at a nice, affordable price.  A blend of Zinfandel (which gives it a strong head start with me), Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this wine has a base of dark flavors, with bright red fruits resting gently on top.
Black cherry is dominant on both the nose and the tongue.  On the nose, you'll also pick up hints of bubble gum and some spice.  The taste includes some great maple syrup flavor, and a hint of anise.
A great wine for the price point.
